Introduction
Checkster’s candidate report gives a detailed overview of the responses provided by all the raters when the checkup is complete. The report consists of of different report elements, depending on the type of questions in the survey. In the current update, the focus was mainly on two of those report elements - “Top Line Summary” and “Specific Relative Ranking Matrix” along with some minor improvements in the overall report.
Top Line Summary
This report element focuses on two main things:
- Probability of rehire - Defines how likely is the rater to rehire the person that they are currently rating. In the survey, rater is presented with a question where they are asked to choose a rating from the given scale. The percentage seen on the report is the average of all the ratings chosen by different raters.
- Overall Performance - Defines how the rater sees the candidate’s performance when they worked with them. In the survey, there is one specific question which corresponds to the overall percentage seen on the report. The percentage is an average of ratings chosen by different raters.
Details of the update made to this report element can be found here.
Specific Relative Ranking Matrix
This section of the report gives an overview of the responses given by raters for questions referring to various attributes of a candidate. An average of the ratings given by the raters for each of the attributes is shown in the report with a specific colour (red/blue, green, yellow). The logic of this report element stays as is, but we have made some updates to how it looks. For more details, scroll below.
What has been updated?
Top Line Summary
Improvements to the new version:
- The dial showing the percentage for “Probability of Re-hire“ and “Overall Performance“ has been improved (for better utilisation of space).
- Description for “Probability of Re-hire“ and “Overall Performance“ has been changed to explain the percentage better (the “question” used as description previously was confusing and raised more questions then helping customers understand what exactly this percentage highlights).
- The harsh red colour highlighting “Reasons mentioned not to re-hire“ and “Low overall performance“ has been changed.

Downloaded Reports
Previously, only the online report would reveal a breakdown of Total Responses, Lowest and Highest score given by a rater and how many Supervisors/Manages responded to the questions by hoovering over the percentages; downloaded reports, didn’t capture this breakdown. Moving forward, when users download these reports, they can find this information laid out in the report element itself. This will eventually make reading downloaded reports much more easier.

Summary of the Referral
“Specific Relative Ranking Matrix“ is now called “Summary of the referral“. The title has been changed to be more consistent with the content/context of the details under this report element. In this section you will find the summary of the ratings provided by the rater for various attribute related questions in survey, hence the new title seems more relevant to the information given in this report element.
Improvements to the new version:
- Updated title for the report element.
- Candidate's average rating is important to the end user. Instead of being available at the bottom of the report element, it can now be seen in bold, along with an attached description and the scale for reference at the top of the report element.
- A scale has been added to give a reference with the overall range, i.e. if the candidate scored 5.4, whether this number is out of 7 or 10 or any other number.
- More muted colours have been used to highlight the average ratings per attribute. This should avoid a user having a contrasting opinion/understanding of a candidates based on the previous colours.
- “How to read this chart” is now replaced with an inbuilt section explaining how different colour can be interpreted. This will eventually make reading a downloaded version of the report easier too.
NOTE: No change has been made to the logic of this report element. We have just updated the UI to help interpret the report better, and avoid having any biases being introduced due to the harsh colours previously used.
